Lucky 13: Detroit Tigers to Visit Hudsonville Ice Cream
Thirteen players for the Detroit Tigers will bring their famed caravan to Hudsonville Ice Cream on Friday, Jan. 20.
HOLLAND, MI, January 18, 2012 /Sports PR News/ -- Thirteen players for the Detroit Tigers will bring their famed caravan to Hudsonville Ice Cream on Friday, Jan. 20.
The players, along with three coaches, will try their hand at making ice cream and tour the plant where Michigan's favorite branded ice cream is made during the morning visit. Hudsonville Ice Cream officials will also make two special announcements during the event, which is open to the media and will provide an opportunity to photograph the Tigers and their coaches.
"We look forward to the Tigers bringing the promise of spring - and spring training - with them on Friday," said Bruce Kratt, Hudsonville director of sales. "We are incredibly pleased that the boys of summer have made Hudsonville one of the stops on their caravan, and look forward to unveiling two exciting initiatives during their visit."
Players scheduled to be part of the caravan include: Alex Avila,
Duane Below, Casey Crosby, Brandon Inge, Don Kelly, David Pauley, Rick Porcello, Ryan Raburn, Daniel Schlereth, Clete Thomas, Jacob Turner, Adam Wilk and Delmon Young. Coaches who plan to attend are Tom Brookens, Jeff Jones and Mike Rojas.
The Tigers have requested that media planning to attend arrive at 9:30 a.m. in advance of the caravan, which is slated to pull in at 9:50 a.m. The tour and ice-cream making will begin at 10:01 a.m. Players will be introduced at 10:08, followed by Hudsonville officials unveiling two new partnerships.
The event will conclude at 10:35 a.m. with photo opportunities of Tigers personnel and Hudsonville staff. Time permitting, there will be a brief question-and-answer session with the Tigers.
