England's Barmy Army has joined up with TUI Travel's Sport Division to launch 'Barmy Travel', a new tour operator partnership with packages available for the upcoming winter cricket tours.
LONDON, ENGLAND, October 07, 2011 /Sports PR News/ -- England's Barmy Army has joined up with TUI Travel's Sport Division to launch 'Barmy Travel', a new tour operator partnership with packages available for the upcoming winter cricket tours.
Launched in order to give cricket fans even more variety for the upcoming overseas series in India (starting this month), Dubai and Abu Dhabi (January 2012) and Sri Lanka (March/ April 2012). The packages will allow customers the freedom to book exactly the tour they are looking for whether travelling individually, as a couple, with family or with friends.
The new partnership brings a completely different offering to the sports tour industry and will allow all cricket fans and travellers to enjoy the atmosphere, passion and fun of the Barmy Army. Recognised across the world, the Barmy Army has been travelling to support the England cricket team across the globe since 1994. TUI Travel's Sport Division has worked in these cricketing destinations for many years and offers superb knowledge and security for cricket fans, alongside the great value for money that an established tour operator can offer. 'Barmy Travel' is the Barmy Army's first joint initiative with such an established sports tour operator and will expand the TUI Travel Sport Division.
The packages include the opportunity to see England take on India at Eden Gardens in both a one-dayer and Twenty20 International, as well as to watch England take on Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. Prices for Abu Dhabi start from as little as GBP1,800 per person* for two tests including return flights, test match tickets, seven nights accommodation at the 4* Marina Byblos Hotel Dubai, seven nights accommodation at the 4*Crowne Plaza Yas Island Abu Dhabi, breakfasts, welcome drinks and airport and test match transfers. Packages for all three tests start from GBP2,438 per person* (15th January - 8th February 2012).
Alternatively, a true Barmy Army favourite is the tour to Sri Lanka, which in March / April 2012 includes two test matches in Galle and Colombo within two weeks and so offers an excellent touring opportunity including beach and city entertainment and atmosphere. For both tests (23rd March - 9th April 2012), prices start from GBP2,183 per person including return flights, test match tickets, ten nights accommodation at the 3* Club Koggala Beach Hotel Galle, seven nights accommodation at the 3* Global Towers Hotel Colombo, participation in (or spectate) the Charity Cricket Day in Galle and airport and test match transfers.
