Bob Burkmar Joins The Stanford Who's Who Team
Bob Burkmar has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his exceptional effort in sports.
NORTH DELTA, BC, CANADA, October 21, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Bob Burkmar has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his exceptional effort in sports. As General Manager and Coach of the North Delta Blue Jays, as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. Burkmar has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Established in 1995, the North Delta Blue Jays is a Canadian youth baseball team that has played in the British Columbia Premier Baseball League since 1999. The team has been responsible for producing two well-known Major League Baseball players in left-handed pitcher Jeff Francis of the Kansas City Royals and the All-Star, 2006 American League MVP, First Baseman of the Minnesota Twins, Justin Morneau.
Since beginning his professional career in 1983, Mr. Burkmar has served in numerous coaching and executive capacities with the North Delta Baseball Association, BC Minor Baseball, the Baseball Coaches Association of BC, and the Delta School District Baseball Academy at Sands Secondary School. He was inducted into the North Delta Baseball Association Hall of Fame in 2007 and into the Delta Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. Bob is retiring from coaching at the conclusion of the 2011 season, after serving with the Blue Jays since 1995. He will continue running clinics at the Sands Baseball Academy, staying local in order to spend more time with his family.
