Auckland Cricket's CEO Andrew Eade Ends Successful Term In Charge

After eight years at the helm Auckland Cricket CEO Andrew Eade has made the decision that it's time to move on.

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, July 13, 2011 /Sports PR News/ -- The last few seasons have proven a testing time to be in the hot seat as Auckland Cricket has navigated its way through a major upgrade to Eden Park for the Rugby World Cup and a move to Colin Maiden Park for all domestic cricket.

Eade however leaves the province in rude health with playing numbers having increased close to 25% in the last three years, the Aces wearing the dual crowns of one day and twenty20 champions and with the organization on a sound financial footing.

Eade himself takes most satisfaction from the developments that have been made to help grass roots cricket.

Andrew Eade said, "The fact that we've won trophies in my time here has been brilliant but I guess what I take real pride in is that we've been able to take significant steps in helping our clubs to grow stronger and also driven a sharp increase in the number of people playing the game."

His comments were echoed by Auckland Cricket Chairman Rex Smith.

Rex Smith commented that, "We'd like to thank Andrew for all he has done for the association in his time as CEO. He has had a very positive influence on the strength and vitality of cricket in Auckland and has always been driven by a real passion for the game."

Eade finishes in his role as CEO on July 22 and the process to find his replacement will begin in the very near future.
