DALLAS, GA, December 13, 2010 /Sports PR News/ -- Robert Douglas Patton, Physical Therapist in the Home Health Physical Therapy Department of Amedisys, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in sports medicine and physical therapy.
Robert Douglas Patton has 28 years of experience, with expertise in the areas of sports medicine and physical therapy. He is responsible for treating orthopedic patients and caring for geriatric patients in need of physical therapy. Amedisys is a home health care organization that provides home health care including orthopedics, geriatrics and sports medicine. Prior to joining Amedisys, Patton worked from 1993 to 1994 as a hospital coordinator and athletic trainer for the Scotty Hanton Marathon Committee at Port Huron Hospital.
Mr. Patton donates his time and resources to Food for the Hungry in Guatemala. He is a financial administrator for Ward Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Additionally, he is a member of the Detroit Chapter of Habitat for Humanity International, the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Mr. Patton attributes his success to his education, his passion for his profession, and the support he received from his mentors. He was a book reviewer for all editions of Lynda Peringian's "The Miracle of Roses - A True Story." He has been featured in Rehab Management magazine.
Mr. Patton received a master of science in physical therapy in 1993 from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (now Des Moines University) and a bachelor of science in health studies in 1990 from Eastern Illinois University. He is a certified athletic trainer and a licensed physical therapist in the states of Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Texas and Arizona. From 2001 to 2003, he served as the vice president of the Western Chapter of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association.
